The Aldgate and Allhallows Foundation is delighted to announce seven new grants expanding educational opportunities, fostering creativity, and supporting the wellbeing of young people across Tower Hamlets and the City of London.
These latest grants provide over £270,000 in funding to support a range of projects, from arts residencies and STEM enrichment to mental health support and improving building facilities.
We’re committing long-term support to the Eastside Educational Trust with a £60,000 grant over three years. Their Artists in Residence programme embeds professional artists directly into primary and SEND schools across Tower Hamlets and the City of London. By partnering with school leadership teams, creative professionals will help schools meet their specific improvement goals through innovative, arts-led learning.
We’re proud to provide a £10,000 grant to Mulberry Schools Trust to send 37 talented students – comprising performers and a full production crew – to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026. This year, the trust is taking two original student productions involving young people from five of their secondary schools. This grant directly supports Mulberry’s mission to challenge the lack of diversity within the UK’s cultural and creative industries, opening doors for young people who rightfully deserve a platform in the arts.
Our £6,000 grant to Pilot Theatre Ltd will launch the Elevate: Reaching New Heights at Mulberry Academy London Dock project this September. This initiative will bring tailored creative and cultural opportunities to roughly 150 students in Tower Hamlets, breaking down barriers to arts education and encouraging deeper long-term engagement with creative subjects.
We’re also supporting local literacy with a £26,350 grant to Tower Hamlets Schools Library Services for their 24-month project, Bringing story books to life. This project will develop multi-sensory “story sacks” filled with props, puppets, costumes, games, and sensory materials linked to specific books. Accompanied by specialised teacher guidance, these packs will turn reading into an immersive, cross-curricular experience that boosts comprehension and sparks a lifelong love for books.
To inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, our £9,540 grant to The Smallpeice Trust will fund the STEM Pathways Tower Hamlets project. Starting in September 2026, this 12-month initiative will deliver six full-day, interactive STEM enrichment days across six local secondary schools. The hands-on sessions are set to reach up to 360 students in Years 7–11, building confidence and future career pathways in technology and engineering.
Recognising the complex challenges young people face today, we have awarded a £9,895 grant to Mental Health UK. This funding will deliver a targeted, 20-week programme in Tower Hamlets focused on Supporting Young People’s Wellbeing and Building Resilience. Through a series of structured, practical workshops, young people will gain essential tools to manage their mental health, cultivate personal resilience, and navigate financial wellbeing with confidence.
