The National Launch of the Schools Funding Network took place in the House of Lords on the evening of 17th February 2014. The evening was hosted by Baroness Walmsley, who gave an address along with John Hall and Kevin Everett, the Chairmen of Aldgate and Allhallows & Sir John Cass’s Foundations respectively; the two charitable trusts which had helped to develop and to support this new ground breaking initiative in 2012.
By virtue of a seed corn grant from the Aldgate and Allhallows Foundation, the Schools Funding Network has improved fundraising standards and the raising of new funds in Tower Hamlets.
With contacts and support across the education sector, this has been a very successful initiative with over £1.6m of new funds being raised in cash and in kind suport across the country; a formal evaluation was undertaken by the Cass Business School in 2013 at the end of the first phase of the project.
The Schools Funding Network works to give every pupil the opportunities to succeed by:
- Raising fundraising standards in schools
- Reducing the barriers that exist between educational stakeholders
- Bringing more funds and support into schools
